My first thought was - the endless number of ways. But in fact there is only one way. If you have fields with the same exact names (case-sensitive) in two or more logical tables, these tables are associated by this field. For example:
Table1 had fields Product, Store, Date, Region
Table2 has fields Date, Month, Year
Table3 has fields Product, Manufacturer, "Product Group"
Table1 is associated with the Table2 by the field Date, and Table1 is associate with the Table3 by the field Product.
That's it. Everything else follows from this simple rule.
