I have created a page on my QlikTips.com blog containing a list of the chapters with a brief description of each:

I am happy to answer any questions on it.

Hi Stephen,

In your book, you mentioned 'You also have the option to add a semicolon-separated list of usernames that are not in a directory service. This option would be used more often when using QlikView DMS security model instead of the default NTFS model', I have some confused:

1.Now we use publisher to split qv report, and we use DMS security, but when we need the splitted reports showed on accesspoint,we need to swith DMS to NTFS mannually, if there any way to keep the publisher working and publish automatically?

2.You mentioned we have the option to add a semicolon-seperated list of usernames that are not in a directory, Are these usernames not NTNAMES? if so, how to add these usernames and search them in manage user dialog window?

3.we install qlikview publisher in one server(with DMS security)and qlikview server in another server(with NTFS),Do you have any experience like that to make the split and publish automatically?

Looking forward to your reply, Thank you very much!

Regards,

Nina

Hi,

You can't really mix NTFS and DMS modes but you can put your server in DMS mode and use Active directory users and publisher can use these users to assign security to documents in AccessPoint.  For non-active directory users, the best way is to have them in some kind of directory so I would use either the Custom directory provider or the Configurable ODBC.
