I've seen conflicting best practices regarding using Synthetic Keys.
One the one hand, http://community.qlik.com/docs/DOC-4556 has a Development Checklist that starts with Synthetic keys removed from data model.
On the other, http://community.qlik.com/blogs/qlikviewdesignblog/2013/04/16/synthetic-keys says Synthetic keys do not cause memory performance issues and are great.
What are your thoughts if you have the same set of multiple keys in 2+ tables?
What are the disadvantages to using synthetic keys?
Thanks!
At the end of the second post even HIC says he would avoid synthetic key(its not recommended) and he explains why. Not sure where you got the message they are great
