DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE 2 EXPRESSIONS?

1)  SUM/(SALESAMOUNT)    DIMENSION IS YEAR  

2)AGGR(SUM(SALESAMOUNT),MONTH)    DIMENSION IS YEAR 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THESE 2  YEARS

Hi

The first is a normal chart/table expression, the second returns a collection of values, one per month for the year of the dimension. This would normally be for a calculated dimension.

In future, please don't enter your posts in all capitals - this is considered to be shouting and is therefore seen as rude.

The first one will give you simple SUM(SALESAMOUNT) for each Year.

The second will not give you any result....you will get only '-'.
