QlikView Install Error

I installed Qlikview Windows 8 64 bit.

I am getting below error :

This installation package could not be opened.

Contact the application vendor to verify that this is

a valid windows installer package.

Please guide me to resolve this error.

Try with windows 8 and up installer.

I am using below install package :

QlikViewDesktop_Win8andUp

My OS Windows 8, 64 bit

Let me know if this is the correct install.

its the right one alright. Perhaps the download was bad . Have you tried downloading again ?  You also need to be an admin on your workstation.

I tried downloading a few times. Download completed without interruption.

I ran the package as administrator.

Do you need to login as administrator. I don't have the password since it came with the install.

good question.  I know you don't need to be the administrator, just a member of the local 'administrators' group , but i am uncertain if 'run as administrator' is a viable substitute.

There are a few other suggestions here that may help .one of them involved logging in as a member of administrators.

This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

Please let me know if this sheds any light on the issue.

Hi,

I believe you need to login as administrator.

or create any user and join it to administrator group.

If that doesn't help. You may need to try with another installer then that of one you are currently using.

At last if nothing works, open a case with qlik.
