Why do we need an Ajax client?

to see a Qlik document published on a server when you don't have an Internet Explorer browser  but Chrome,Safari, etc.....

AJAX gives you 'session collaboration' and consumption through the mobile device as well .

Mike,

To see the qlikview in webview you need a client. Clients viz IE, AJAX..

WebView mode, which uses the internal web browser in QlikView to display the document layout as an AJAX page, on and off.

With Ajax, Web applications can send data to, and retrieve data from, a server asynchronously (in the background) without interfering with the display and behavior of the existing page.

AJAX always communicates to a Web Server (either QVWS or IIS). Plugin acepts qvp:// pseudo URLs, so the communication is done directly between the QVS and the Client. This method is considerably faster, but requires ports 4747 and 4774 opened in both client and server both inbound and outbound.
