How to use make date function???

Hi

I have a field called 'Paid in' which stores value 'September' in excel and now i am bringing that field into qlikview and I would like to use makedate function ,My previous developer used the function like this but

its not showing any result  and I need to know what it is trying to do .

Date#(date(Makedate(num(Year),[GS3 Paid in],1))) as OBJ_GSoS_EndDate, 

Can any one help me out this , How can I make it work.

Its a bit urgent pls

=Date#(Year&[GS3 Paid in],'YYYYMMMM') as OBJ_GSoS_EndDate,

supposed your Year is a 4 digit number.

Hi marco,

it is showing the error , saying that field not found <year>

How shall i do that .

your initial question suggests that there has been a Year-Field in your application.

Can you post a sample QVW to look into?

in edit mode click on "Use advanced editor" and then "Attach":

No, none.

Should be there in edit mode.
