Error message when trying to connect to an ODBC data source

I've setup an ODBC connection to the DB under the System DSN for both 32 and 64 bit. But I can't get Qlik Sense to connect either one. They both connect successfully via the Windows ODBC tool. Any other ideas to get Qlik Sense connected to the database?

Hi Joshua - the logs did not show any particular error. As Borys stated and as I have mentioned in the video  - if there is an OLE DB driver available - such as the Sql Server Native Client - you should configure an OLE DB data source instead. Let me know if this option is available to you.

Hi Joshua - can you please tell us more about the error?

Include the error message and screenshot.

Have you tried with and without entering in the user id and password?

If you have a moment - also take a look at this video - it may help:

The error message is "You do not have access to a script data source." See the attached image.

Yes, I have tried with and without the UID / PWD. I'll check out that video.

What data source is it? Just for argument's sake - if there is an OLE DB driver available you may want to use that one instead.

Alos, if you check the logs directory: C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Engine

You can .zip those up and attach to this discussion.

We will take a look.

I'll check on the possibility of the OLE DB driver. Attached are the logs.

I should clarify that this is running on Windows Server 2008 and I'm attempting to connect Qlik Sense to Microsoft SQL Server. The ODBC connection successfully tests on Windows - just not in Qlik Sense.

@Joshua you always want to use OLE DB driver for MS SQL Server - it is way faster than ODBC and supported for both x86 and x64 OS.

I was able to connect to our SQL Server just fine from Qlik Sense.

The OLE DB driver did it. Thanks!
