We have now released an updated version of our SAP Certified connector.

The big news in this release is the addition of a brand new connector which has native support for Qlik Sense 3.0 and higher. The InfoProvider Connector enables a user to self serve against two InfoProvider types which include InfoCubes and MultiProviders within SAP BW.

Some additional features include:

BEx Connector

  • Supports queries on Transient providers.
  • Improved memory handling in the SAP part of the connector has increased the capacity to use big BEx queries. There is still, however, a maximum limit of the number of rows that can be downloaded, depending on the memory settings in each SAP system.

SQL Connector

Two new connection string properties are available:

  • FLTPLegacy for setting the transfer format for floating point data to either string

values with scientific notation or decimal format. SAP

  • TIMSLegacy for setting the transfer format for date-time values when writing to

    QVDs. SAP

  • Together with the connection string properties MixedMode and NulldateLegacy,

which were introduced in version 6.3.2 of the connector, it is now possible to customize the connector to keep a previous behavior regarding how SAP data types are treated in Qlik.

The release is available today from the product download page.

Many thanks

We have now released an updated version of our SAP Certified connector.

The big news in this release is the addition of a new connector which has native support for Qlik Sense 3.0 and higher. The BEx connector enables a user to self serve against pre-defined SAP BEx queries, now for both QlikView and Qlik Sense.

Some additional features include:

General

  • The BEx Connector is now available in Qlik Sense.
  • New functionality to delete records from the Qlik database tables in the background. It is suitable

to use when deleting large number of records. Please see the online help for detailed information.

Extractor Connector

  • SAP Extractor Connector cancels an SAP extraction job when the corresponding connector Please see the online help for detailed information.
  • The SAP Extractor Connector discovers and prevents multiple Services from pointing to the same SAP system.

BEx Connector

  • The BEx Connector performs a consistency check when a query is performed. If the query contains errors, an error message is displayed. The check is also performed at reload before the query is extracted to avoid a dump in SAP.
  • A validity check is performed for each Characteristic Value used.
  • Because the Bex Connector .exe file has been renamed from QvBexConnector.exe to

QvSAPBexConnector.exe, scripts must be changed when they are moved to the new connector. Either edit the connection strings or create new strings.

The release is available today from the product download page.

Many thanks

SAP Connector 6.1.2

Posted by Dean Ansermoz Mar 14, 2016

We have now made available the latest version of our SAP connector - 6.1.2 and can be found on the Qlik.com download page.

Please see the release notes for full details.

Help can be found here: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/SAP_SQL_Connector_help/Content/6.1/ReleaseInfo/QlikSense-6.1.htm

Some of the highlights include:

SQL Connector

  • Significant performance improvement for reload times.
  • The parameter RemoveThousandSeparator is not used anymore. Thousand separators are always removed before sending the data from SAP to Qlik. If the parameter is present in old scripts, it will not be used.
  • New ‘wideselect’ functionality. SAP database fields with a column width exceeding 800 characters cannot be extracted by the current SQL connector. With the ‘wideselect’ functionality there is no limitation to column width. It is possible to extract one wide field column at a time together with a number of associated key fields.

  Extractor Connector

  • New optional parameter “SocketTimeout”, used to fine tune the timeout triggered by the first connection to the Qlik SAP Network Server. Default value is 900 (seconds). The parameter can be added to the connection string. (Example: SocketTimeout=500).

BEx Connector

  • Variables maintained in the Default Values section in BEx Query Designer are now available in the variables section in the BEx connector select window. Those variables were previously not included for use in the connector.

Thanks

SAP Connector 6.1.1

Posted by Dean Ansermoz Nov 5, 2015

Today we have released a minor update to our SAP connector. 6.1.1 now replaces version 6.1 due to two issues which were impacting performance of the SQL connector.

These issues have now been resolved.

A small number of customers had experienced an issue with the parameter ‘TimeOutFetch’ which had caused a trigger to terminate the job before completion in some cases. The workaround would be to put a high value in the parameter. The issue has now been resolved

and the parameter is now working as expected.

In addition it was also identified that there was a performance degrade in release 6.1. The issue has now been resolved

When upgrading to 6.1.1 from 6.1 only one SAP transport is needed to be imported into their base client:

Basis 640-71x
E6DK900758

or

Basis 720-74x
E66K900063

Thanks

SAP Connector 6.1

Posted by Dean Ansermoz Oct 22, 2015

We have now made available version 6.1 of the Qlik SAP Connector, which is now on the Qlik product download page.

As with version 6.0 of the SAP connector, there are 8 connectors contained within this release:

  • SQL
  • Bapi
  • Extractor
  • BEx
  • OLAP
  • Report
  • Query
  • DSO

From this release (6.1) we have updated the SQL connector which is contained within this package to natively support Qlik Sense within a single package and installation. This also provides an updated UI for QlikView, and now Qlik Sense to assist with building script directly within the UI.

A number of further enhancements and bug fixes are also included in this release, and further details can be found in the attached release notes.

Thanks

The Products Team

We have today made available on our download site the latest version of our SAP Certified connector. v6.0

This is primarily a release containing bug fixes, and also represents our renewed certification from SAP which now is valid until 18th May 2018.

Bug fixes include:

SQL Connector

 Now possible to combine a SELECT COUNT statement with select of field name(s).

BEx Connector

 Now possible to run multiple load statements using only one connection string.

 The Server Type ‘Message Server’ in the connection dialog will now be possible to use without problems. Please also read about a related problem under ‘Important information’ below.

Others

 In the application ReLoadSAPDD.qvw for the ScriptBuilder there was an issue with the parsing of the select statement of the table DD03L. It caused the application to “freeze”. It occurred in connection with changes of the SQL connector in release 5.80 SR4. It is now fixed.

General

 Release 5.30 will no longer be supported and not possible to download.

 SAP transports for SAP basis below 6.40 will not be provided.

 v6.00 and higher will only support 64bit windows platforms for installation.

From v6.0 onward we intend on only supporting 64bit versions of our SAP connector.

Please find more information and documentation about this release on our download page.
