Full Excel Table Compatibility in NPrinting Release 12.3 and Later

    QlikView objects can now populate Excel tables, so you can use Excel table functions. You can create Excel tables with all the unformatted QlikView data or inject only selected columns. Both will be illustrated in this tutorial. Though all four columns will be embedded in our second Excel table, a table with fewer columns could be created and the selected columns embedded in any order. Here is how to do it.

        
        
            
              

    Create New Excel Report and Template

    Save Template in .xlsx Format

    1. Change Save as type: to Excel Workbook (*.xlsx) because the older Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls) type is not compatible with the present feature. NPrinting 14.1 and later releases automatically pre-select the latest format featured by the Microsoft Office installation that you have for saving each document type.

    Add Chart as Table and Adjust Properties

    1. Add CH184 - Top 25 Products to the template
    2. Uncheck the Keep Source Formats

    Embed QlikView Table in Template

    Drag and drop the CH184 - Top 25 Products token onto the second cell of Column B.

    1. Select a cell containing the CH184 tag if it si not already selected
    2. Click on the Toolbar icon in the View group if the Excel tool bar is not already open
    3. Select the Insert tab in the Excel tool bar

    • Font and Alignment formatting applied from the Excel tool bar to the Heading cell will be applied to all table cells in the heading row.
    • Font and Alignment formatting applied from the Excel tool bar to the Content cell will be applied to all table cells in the content rows.

    Expand the CH184_1 - Top 25 Products node and embed the columns one by one in the template by dragging them and dropping them onto empty cells.

    1. Select four horizontally contiguous cells
    2. Click n the Table icon in the Tables group to open the Create Table dialog

    • Font, Alignment, and Number formatting can be applied from the Excel tool bar to the Heading cell independently by column.
