In Canada, many of the major banks and financial institutions use a fiscal calendar that begins November 1st. November is the first month of the fiscal year and October is the last.  Attached is a data model of sales data that is mapped to a fiscal calendar generated entirely with QlikView script. This enables fiscal calendar reporting on , in this case, all sales data.  Worth a look for anyone using QlikView at a major Canadian Financial institution or even if you are looking for ideas on how to implement a fiscal calendar within QlikView.  I threw in some fiscal year over fiscal year reporting on the dashboard that leverages variables and SET ANALYSIS.  One extra point: when comparing the current year (for which there is sales data up to only the current month), the chart will compare only YTD values with the prior year's equivalent YTD.
