Qlik Sense Installation Issue

Hello Community, I am trying to install the Qlik Sense Desktop 2.2 version on my Windows Server 2008 R2 RDS desktop account. But it failed because Qlik Sense Desktop only compatible with Windows7/8.

I don't have any separate laptop or desktop with Window 7/8 and how can I install the Qlik Sense Desktop on Windows Server OS.

i belive the best way is to add another partition with windows 7/8.

You need 64 bit Windows ver.

You cannot install Qlik Sense Desktop on Windows server. You will need the server install and license..

Ralf, we are in process of evaluation and so I am looking any options to install the on server OS. We may get 2 weeks evaluation license but 2 weeks time frame is not sufficient in our client.

Just Qlik can help. Nobody else here..

Only the installation itself on Windows Server is prohibited, you may still run the Desktop client though.

This was working with Qlik Sense 2.1.1:

1) Install Qlik Sense Desktop Client on a Windows Client machine

2) Copy over the QlikSense.exe to your Windows Server machine.

3) Run QlikSense.exe and access the hub on http://localhost:4848/hub (Ensure 4848 is free to use).

I was not able to open up http://localhost:4848/hub to users outside of the server, but didn't spend too much time investigating either.

Martin, we don't have Windows 7/8 Machine and we are looking for that.

As Ralf and Robert mentioned we can install QS only in 7/8. It is not supported in server edition.

Initially we also faced this issues. We later switched to WIN 7.
