Hi, i have just started looking into using section access. I have found a document on section access and have followed an example from it.
When i open the QLIKVIEW document that i have set up section access on, it asks me for my user id and password which then lets me into the document. When i then close that document and reopen it, it doesn't ask me for any credentials like it did the first time i opened it, and if i try and view the hidden script that i used to set it up it doesn't appear to be there and all the hidden script option in the file menu are blanked out.
Does anyone know what i am doing wrong?
Hello,
It's done by design. If you want to change that behavior, go to Settings menu, User Preferences and uncheck "Remember login credentials until QlikView exits".
Then, once you close and reopen the document you will be prompted again.
Hope that helps.
Hi again,
It is ok, i have found what i was doing wrong.
I was only closing the document, not actually the QLIKVIEW program itself. If i close the entire program it seems to work when i reopen the document.
Is this a fault or is that how it has been designed to work?
Hi,
If you close QlikView, it will ask you again for User and Password. --> it is designed to work in this matter!
Did you mark in the document properties and security "Admin Override Security"?

Yes that is marked in document secuity.
Surely it should ask for the credentials even if i just closed the document but kept the QLIKVIEW "shell" open then reopened the document from my list of recent documents.
Excellent, thanks Miguel, that worked great.
