What does IQVS user do?

I am currently in the process of locking down the QlikView server to go into production. Unfortunately when an audit test was conducted it came back flaging that there is a user named: IQVS_Servername with a password that never expires. I knew that QlikView created a group called Qlikview Administrator but I was unaware that QlikView also created a user. I was wondering what is the purpose of this user? And if I delelet this user what are the consequence (if any)?

The IQVS_Servername is the anonymous account, used when anonymous connections are made to QVS (if those are allowed and CALs available to support it). So basically it works like the IUSR_server account that IIS uses for anonymous connections.

Hi,

I think this user is used by iphone/ipad client. Please see the following blogs:

I hope this helps.

It might also be worth noting that if the IQVS user does not exist, QVS will (try to) create it every time the service restarts. If the QVS for some reason fails in creating the user a message will appear in the QVS event log at every retry.
