Hello,

I had this same problem.  I did the following to fix the problem.

1. Stop NPrinting services

2. Delete the NPrinting folder in c:\programdata

3. Start NPrinting services

This might be a little extreme and after looking the the subfolders in the programdata folder, you might be able to get away with just deleting the "ondemand" folder or the cache files in the apps folder.

Of course, when I say delete, I'm implying that you back up everything just in case you delete a template or a report you end up needing.

Thanks, Karl

Hi Mark,

Everything worked for me after reinstalling NPrinting using windows user to run NPrinting services that was different than the user that ran QlikView services.

However, there are other problems that prevented me from using NPrinting 17 in a production environment.  I'm going to wait until the next service release to test it again.

Thanks for the reply Karl.

I agree with you about the production environment.

I am doing a trial of Nprinting at the moment.

There is a good case for buying nprinting at the company I am working for but I think it will be case of using nprinting 16 and looking to upgrade in the future.

A combination of CEO\Directors being the first users and early morning reports means it needs to be reliable for my own sanity.

Hi Karl,

I tried doing the same thing but nprinting engine is still showing stopping and when I tried to delete nprinting folder,it is telling, the folder is still open somewhere.

What should I do?

Hi Hella,

I solved this problem by login in using my nprinting user not by my service account.

Also,I added qlikview desktop license post that.

Please note that qlikview desktop license used by nprinting user should not be the same used by service account(as told by my seniors),also you can lease license if required.

Hope it helps someone else who follow this thread.

Thanks.

Hi Anjali

regarding  your comment:

I think you need to clarify it bit more.

When you are generating cache metadata NPrinting ENGINE is opening QlikView Desktop instance and account running NPrinting Engine needs a USER CAL license.

That is all what is required in NPrinting 17.X
