Improving Governance / Monitoring Apps in Sense (Operations Monitor, License Monitor)

Calling all Qlik Sense user, admins, and experts -

As the developer of the Monitoring apps (Operations Monitor and License Monitor), I am continually seeking insightful feedback and input from the field. I want the apps to provide the most value possible, so I ask your help.

For all who have installed and used Qlik Sense - specifically the QMC - what is your impression of the Monitoring (aka Governance) apps? Do you use them? If so, why? What is valuable to you?

What is missing?

What is unclear?

Anything unhelpful that could be cleaned up?

If you do not use them, why not?

I appreciate your time and thought!

Thanks! Gracias! Obrigado! Tack!

Hi Tyler,

thank you for asking feedback.

Is there a way to know how many "Allocated tokens" / "remaining login access passes" for each "Login access rules" in the "License Monitory" app? Right now (in app version 2.0), I need to go to QMC to know this. It will be nice to know this in the "License Monitor" app as well so that all license monitoring can be done in one place.

Regards,

Muliady

Hello Muliady - I am working on that very feature for the next release of the License Monitor. So, stay tuned!

i'm upgrade QS server from 2.0.4 to 2.2.4.

And i see new monitor application not used old QVD files or not imported information from there.

i delete archive logs because it too big.

has any opportunity use old QVD?

Good question Alexander -

Because the data model might change between versions (updated load script), the Monitoring Apps will use (create new) QVDs the first time they are reloaded.

You will get the full history in the new apps.

The downside of this is that the first time the new apps reload, the reload will take longer to pull all the history. But the next reload will be the shorter, incremental reload.

Hello, One thing the Operations Monitor is missing is the App Description in the QMC Change Log. This is where I have the developers entering our internal Change Request numbers for change control audits.

Currently I have to go into the database to see the Description. Would be great to have it in the Operations Monitor.

Hi Steve. Yes, app description is not in the QMC log, but this will be available in the next release. Thanks!

dcalafell‌ - What about something like this for the License Monitor -- showing token utilization by Access type, or App Stream, or app?

Hi,

it will be possible to know the sheets and objects that are accessed by each user for an app?

Thanks in advance!

Mr. Tyler,

Do you know when the update in QlikSense will happen - sheets and objects access by each user? Also It will be nice to know most frequent used sheets or ability to flag sheets with objects that present user with long duration to retrieve.
