NPrinting 17 Editing template on desktop

I installed NPrinting 17 on a server and have been able to create a powerpoint report on the server.  However I cannot edit the template when I login from my desktop.  I click the edit template button and nothing happens.  I tried with Excel and HTML, same thing no template can be edited.

Ashok - clicking the create/edit template button from the browser will open the local NP Designer client installed on the desktop. Uninstall version 16, download and install on your desktop the same version of NP Designer that you have for the NP server and that should work.

Hi Ashok,

Did you install NPrinting Designer on the client? Has the logged in user role got the privileges to view/create/edit reports?

No I did not install NPrinting designer v17 on the client.  NPrinting designer v17 has only been installed on the Server.  On the Server, the designer works fine.  On the client desktop I can get to a report edit page, but cannot bring up any templates for editing.  The client desktop user has NPrinting administrator rights.  I have NPrinting designer v16 installed on the client desktop, is that a problem?

Ashok -

The client desktop has to be the same version as the server. You cannot run NP Designer 16 with NP Server 17. Try upgrading the desktop version and you should be fine.

Thank you Stephen for your kind help.  I am not using the NP Designer 16 even though i have it installed on my desktop.  I am using the url http://<NPServerName>:4993 to get to the NP 17 designer.  The browser based NP 17 designer works fine until I try to edit a template.  Should I remove my desktop version of NP 16 designer in order to get NP 17 designer to work right?

Thanks Stephen, will give it a shot.  Memorial weekend, so no people with admin rights around...will have to wait for Monday.  If that works you will get the correct answer.  Thanks anyway.  Happy Memorial day!
