SBE with publisher can support PDF distribution?

Hi Experts

I have SBE of qlikview server with publisher.

Now I need to purchase addon called PDF distribution.

Can this be supported?

Or I need to upgrade to Enterprise Edition?

Even I need to distribute Qvw files via email.

How can I acheive this?

My company dosen't have a seperate SMTP server.

We are using google apps Right now.

one way is to created pdf file of reports via PDFCreator. PDFCreato is opensource tool.

and distribute that PDF.

Hello,

Without Publisher, it all depends on macros and code executed via visual basic or any other language, where you set manually the ip address of the smtp server, username and password (plain text) and all relevant data. There's some info in the Share QlikViews section as well as in the Microsoft website about CDOSYS.

This macro, however, must be executed manually, since OnReload or OnPostReload triggers will not work (well, you can try anyway), meaning that you have to open the document with Desktop application or IE Plugin and clicking on the button that triggers the macros.

I'd create a different document for each person that will get the document, instead of sending the complete document with section access and data reduction. You can perform that reduction in the load script or creating a reload task for each user, if you use QVD files this shouldn't be a big deal.

Hello,

That's one of the functionalities of Publisher (although it uses the same console and installation file, you don't need to install anything else, but you need to have a Publisher license). Reloading and distributing QVW and PDF files depending on section access, or other banding fields. This stores these files in shared folders or sends them by email.

Check with your QlikView sales rep about licenses and documentation.

As Miguel said, you only need a Publisher License with PDF Distribution enabled, you don't need to upgrade from SBE to EE.
