QV10 Server: What is difference between Root Folder and Mounted Folders?

In upgrading to v10 from 8.5, it is unclear to me what the difference is of the "Root Folder" and the "Mounted Folders."

What information should reside in the Root Folder and NOT in the Mounted Folders, and vice-versa.

There's probably a simple explanation, but I'm missing it.

Thanks!

Hi

As addition to Johns answer you can change the QVPR folder.  Under System -> Setup -> Management Service -> Repository. Here you can add an optional path for the QVPR storage. This would be recommended in a clustered installation.

Hi Tyler

My recommendation would be that you leave the root folder alone so that it only contains your license (pgo) files.

Create mounted folders for your QVWs and if you have a tiered architecture then don't mark the extract and transformation folders as being browsable.

You can of course have more than one folder for your dashboards (as previously mentioned) and they should all be browseable to expose the dashboards in Access Point.

It keeps everything clean and easy to manage.
