WHERE DID MY APP GO?!?!?!

Please - tell me I can recover my APP. Where did it go?

Perhaps check your Recycling Bin in case it ended up there?

Generally apps for the Desktop are saved in C:\Users\<your user profile name>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Apps (ie, basically in my documents).

You could possibly try to see if you have a local restore. (Browse to the folder. Right-click. Select Properties. Then check the Previous Versions tabs). If nothing there and nothing in the Recycling Bin....

Then the only other thing I can think of would be virus scanner. To check and see if it quarantined the file for some reason.

But pending it is still missing, you would need to go back to a hard drive backup that you have somewhere. If you don't have that....then sadly it may be gone.

I wish you luck.

Have you done anything recently that may have caused this? Updates, moving files around, etc?

I think my computer did an automatic update yes.

Like to Windows 10? or a major fix pack?

My brother had that happen once. It copied his profile so it was his name plus dot001 (example jsmith.001) or something of the sort. But the original profile folder (jsmith) was still there.

You could look for it that way. See if that is what happened.

So you are seeing the app in the hub, but when u click on it you are seeing this error message?

If so try right click on app in hub and click on "open with out data" at least that can restore the app without data and you can perform reload.

It was windows. I'm not sure what you mean. Mine is on desktop. Not Server.

It would not load without any data at all. I have a feeling it is all gone.

Right. On my brother's laptop, when his Windows took an update it copied his profile (example: C:\Users\jsmith) to another directory (example: C:\Users\jsmith.001). All his documents and things were there in both places. But some applications (like his programming development suite) got really confused.

The point being perhaps you have a C:\Users\<my profile name>.001\Documents\ folder where Qlik is looking now. If so and if you have the old folder C:\Users\<my profile name>\...... as I mentioned above, you may be able to just copy over the Qlik stuff.

I've had some success running the Repair utility (installation media and choosing the repair option). But, I have also had apps deleted in the past when upgrading the Qlik Sense version. Thankfully, I had backed those apps up before the upgrade.

Personally, I would check program files and Apps folder as caldrich‌ mentioned and copy all of my apps. Then run the repair utility. If this all fails I would consider a system restore or just start rebuilding!
