Reducing the length of the vertically displayed dimension in a pivot table

Hi

In one of the pivot table I displaying all the dimensions vertically by using "Go to: Properties --> Presentation --> (Check) Vertical Text on Column Labels". I want to reduce the length of the vertically displayed dimensions as it is too large.

Could you please help me out on this please.

Hi Attitude,

I think, the length of this vertical dimension display is automatically set by the tool based on the longest name of the available dimensions. Because, the length (howmuch ever that may be) should be uniform for all dimensions else it wont be good thing to look at.

The most feasible work arnd I feel is to go to Properties-->Dimensions-->'setting for selection dimensions' and rename all dimensions to a small abbreviation of each.

Hi Sircute

Even I also thought that it is based on the longest name of the available dimensions. I too agree with you that length of the dimension should be uniform. But whereas in my case the length is too larger though the name of the dimensions are shorter.

Is there is anyother way to reduce the length?

Hi,

check the labels of your pivot table expression(s). Even if you only have one expression so it's label doesn't appear qv may be taking this label into account when leaving space for all labels. If your expression does not have al able qv will use the expression itself and this may be longer than your column lables.

Hi

Thanks a ton! That was very very silly mistake from my side. In qlikview as there are lots of option it behaves differently if we forget to check any options by mistake.

Thanks for your time.
