Hi , I am a java developer having exp approx 5 years. willing to move to BI profile.Please suggest how should i proceed for the same.

i am quite unsure about the path i should follow

Hi,

To become qlikview developer the prerequisites are

- SQL knowledge atleast Select query, joins etc.

- Datawareshousing concepts

- Knowledge of different types of charts

When compared to Java the BI is bit interesting and challenging, here you don't need to write tonnes and tonnes of code, but logical thinking is necessary. I too came from .Net background it is very easy to become a BI developer if you have a very good database and programming knowledge..

Being from a developer back ground , you would have a pretty good hold on Logic, that would help you a lot.

I would suggest going through training module of Qlikview. You would find many in community.

Hi Mamta,

first of all It is good thought.you chooses a right way for good career.

As per Jagan you need to learn Basic to medium (Above average)

Data base concepts

like (select,drop,like,in,where,Data types,null,update,rows/records,columns/fields,join types,concatenate,for loop,...etc).

Data warehouse concepts

like(Start schema,snow flake schema,historical data,fact table,Dimension table,look up,SCD(slowly changing dimension),...etc)

Qlikview(QV) Concepts

we will help to you to learn QV.
