Nprinting file name seperator...

Hi

I would like to use space as separator in the file name of a report with dynamic names, but it does not seem to work.

Anyone who knows if you need to use some special code to get this to work?

Hi Patrik,

You can use space as the separator in the file name when using dynamic naming.

What am I missing here?

Patrick,

Spaces at the beginning or end of a string are not supported in dynamic naming.

You can use "     " which will be interpreted in the final name as _       _

Not ideal but perhaps this helps.

Ok, thanks

I guess I stick to the underscore then.

Oups, thanks!

I looked at the preview and since the space did not show up as other characters did, I just assumed it didn't work.

That will only work in NP15.x and 16.x

In NPrinting 17, leading and following spaces and separators are not supported

Wasn't sure which version of NPrinting we were talking about...

Hi all,

I had to get this on 17 and found this trick to work. Create a variable in the source app, say v_space. Then give it the value

=chr(160)

and put this variable in dynamic naming to the place where you need the space. Char 160 is a non-breaking space.
