Macros?

can anyone explain me about macros and why we are using macros in qlik..I'm novice

Hi

We use macros to implement functionalities which are not directly provided by Qlikview. Though macros are not supported by Qlik we try to use it as less as possible.

Macros in QlikView are used to achieve functionality specific to user needs. Macros should be used as minimum as possible since it affects the performance of the applications.

Example: You can create a macro to default/clear a specific field, when a variable's value changes and so on.
