ApplyMap - why use "Missing","Unknown" instead of "null" ?

Hi guys,

i just want to know, what the specific reason or from your opinion:

In applymap, why there are developers prefer to use "Missing", "unknown", instead of using "Null"?

Example: APPLYMAP('Product_Details',ProductID,null()) as Product_Made

I think using e.g. 'Missing' makes it more obvious that a ProductID could not be mapped correctly, e.g. when listing the Product_Made values in a list box (which won't show NULL).
