Poor ColorMix Function Performance following v.3.0.1 upgrade

Following an upgrade from 2.0.9 to 3.0.1, I am experiencing very poor performance of the ColorMix1 function.

I know the expression is a bit complicated, checking for values >1, then between 0 and 1, then less than 0, and performing colormixes in between, but the amount of data I have is very small, and prior to the upgrade it performed flawlessly.

Did Qlik change the way colors were processed in the 3.0.1 release?

Has anyone else experienced these kind of issues?

Thanks.

Hi Joel,

In my understanding Colormix function is working as same as earlier . Now , In your case its all about data . You can check in previous version of Consumer Sales App which comes by default , On first sheet the three bar charts have same function and same GUI.

Hi,

I have upgraded the version to 3.0.1 but dont see any differences, can you attach some sample apps or images related to this ?

Thanks,

ColorMix1() function expects a number between 0 and 1 as first argument and I can't see a reason why the performance of color mapping should have degraded.

Reading your post, I think your expression is more complicated (i.e. the matching of your value you want to map against ranges ">1", "<0" and "inbetween 0 and 1" may include some complex repeated calculations) and maybe the performance of your value calculation has degraded.

Could you at least post your complete, full expression you are using as color expression?
