Does KML files size impact Qlik sense map loading

We use KML file to create polygon maps with Qlik sense desktop/server.

Suppose the KML file size is 10MB. Does the KML file size impact Qlik sense map loading? If so, is there any method or walk-around to reduce Qlik sense map loading?

Any suggestion is appreciated!

We have to use kml file to create polygon map in Qlik.

Yes, the size of kml file impacts the mashup page loading speed.

We optimize the kml file size and finally increase the map loading speed on mashup page.

See Qlik Sense Map Error: the hypercube results are too large"

If you experience a bug while loading , you should file KML edited in any text editor. Should remove some part lines. Display accuracy will decrease, but in general will be an acceptable image for visualization.

Hi Yu,

In order to get performance of maps (in any system) the resolution needs to be adequate, too much and it will long time to render and too low then it will not be readable. However there are lot things to consider. please have a look at Johan Persson's blog post on how to simplify map data:

Simplifying geodata « bi.idevio.com

Fyi, IdevioMaps contains already tuned areas for most most places, and also includes tools to simplify user supplied geodata.

Thanks,
