NPrinting 17.2 and Sense 3.1 Connection error

Hello Qlik friends,

i installed Qlik NPrinting 17.2 on the server \\server004\

and

Qlik Sense 3.1 on the server \\server003\.

I would like to create a connection between Qlik Sense and Qlik NPrinting, but I get the error:

"Something went wrong with the current operation."

Every services is running, but I am not able to create a connection in Qlik NPrinting. Do you know a solution?

At first glance your proxy address should be https://server003. You will also need to install the certificate from your sense server: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/17.2/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Installing-sense-certificate...

Hello Qlik friends,

i changed my installation. I installed Qlik Sense and Qlik NPrinting on the same machine \\server003\.

Now, it works.

1. I installed Qlik NPrinting on the same machine with Qlik Sense

2. I exported the certificate of Qlik Sense QMC without Password

  • Add machine name "Server_name/Domain" or "Server_name"
  • Don't type Password
  • Select "Include secret key"
  • Export file format for certificates: Windows format

INFO: Certificates will be exported to this disk location on the server:      C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Repository\Exported Certificates

3. I started QMCCertificatesInstaller, which is in the folder C:\Program Files\NPrintingServer\Tools\

  • and followed the screen.
  • and selected the exported certificate file, which is in the mentioned folder.

4. I typed in Internet Options, which is in Control Panel\Network and Internet the following information

  • Security>Local Internet>Sites>Advanced>
  • "Server_name/Domain" and "Server_name"
  • Don't Selected "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in the zone

See link: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/17.2/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Installing-sense-certificate...

After then

Now, it works. But I still have certificate problem in Qlik NPrinting (see attached file)

Maybe, you know the problem with the certificate.

Hey Ibrahim,

This setup is sufficient in a test environment, but I would not recommend this in a production environment. NPrinting can and will use all of the server's resources which can cause Qlik Sense to crash. Please read the unsupported configurations section on the help page: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/17.2/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/System-requirements.htm

Thanks,

James

Agree with James.

The certificate issue when you log onto NPrinting setting page is not a problem.

The real problem is that you will have strange things happen if you set up NP and Sense in the same server. And Qlik support will not provide any help because it has been clearly explained in the system requirement in the link that James has provided above.

Hello xufei123‌ and jamesparham‌,

I uninstalled NPrinting on the \\server003\.

As mentioned, I installed Qlik NPrinting Server 17.2.0 on \\server004\.

The services

  • QlikNPrinting RepoService is running,
  • QlikNPrinting WebEngine is running,
  • QlikNPrinting Scheduler is stopped!

Do you know why the scheduler stops always?

Best regards,
