NPrinting 17.2 Connection to a local qvw file

Hi,

I have installed Qlik NPrinting Server and Qlik NPrinting Engine on a windows server machine.

I have the Qlik NPrinting Designer installed on my  local machine.

When I try to create a connection to a qvw file which is on my local machine, the a cache status gets an error "Request has been purged due to connection errors".

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,

Hi Suchit,

Your NPrinting Engine and the QVW file are on different machines so you will need to use a shared network folder and UNC path for the former to access the latter.

Hi Suchit,

Let's try something,

  1. Login to your NPrinting server using your nprintadmion user
  2. Open your QlikView application
  3. Click on the "Open" icon to open an application
  4. In the "File name" tab enter the following
    1. \\[ip addresse of your laptop]\c$\[path to application]\[application name]

You will be able to open any application from anywhere as long as it is reachable within your network AND that your nprintadmin user has access to.

Hope that will help you.

Hi Robert,

I think Daniel is correct here.

Your method is to open the file from server, but I am trying to create a connection from my laptop to a server for it to access my local QVW file, which cannot be done without shared folder as my NPrinting Engine and QVW files are not on the same machine.

Thanks,

Suchit

the solution here was to use local user;

(domain user had restrictions even though it was an administrator)
