Can't launch QlikSense Desktop

I am new user, evaluating the product for my company. I downloaded and installed QlikSense Desktop 3.1. However I can't launch it, getting error

Could not Reach http://localhost:4848/hub with error (-5).

I reviewed earlier posts on this subject and made sure that "Bypass proxy for local addresses" is checked in LAN settings. Also turned off Windows firewall. Tried to cleanup all files in C:\Users\~\Documents\Qlik\ and it took me one step further - I got login screen and entered my credentials, but QlikSense Desktop didnt launch after that. If I try again, I get the same error.

I am on Windows 7 Professional.

I would appreciate any help

More or less the same here. I just installed the newly released 3.1.2 and I too got the Could not Reach http://localhost:4848/hub with error (-5). error. But after pressing F5 the hub appeared as normal. I reckon the backend wasn't totally finished starting up before the browser tried opening the hub.

Unfortunately it is not the case for me. Pressing F5 doesnt do anything.

I attached the screenshot to the original post. Can you see it?

I see the error you posted and remember getting a similar one from Qlik Sense, while, at the same time, a Windows error with more detail and the option to confirm showed up.

Have you checked for other active windows?

Yes, I did. No other errors.

Hi Veronika,

what happens when you start Qlik Sense Desktop with icon (then obviously you are getting an error) , but in the mean time (without closing QlikSense although it has an error) could you please put through http://localhost:4848/hub hub address to your normal browser - It could happen that you have some windows settings which can be promted from regular browser like IE or Chrome (warnings, internet settings)

Let see how it goes

regards
