Error:The app file you are attempting to load from is corrupt

Hello.

I was making a dashboard with Qlik Sense. I had just linked a new table to my data model in the script. Reloaded data, 0 errors, everything seemed ok. When i tried opening my App again it was loading for a long time, then my mouse started to glitch and the fans on my computer sped up! The whole computer ended up crashing and I had to do a hard restart.

When I got back into Qlik Sense and tried to load my application this error occurred:

corrupt.PNG.png

I can't seem to find any way to recover the application from this. No version control, no safe mode?

Any ideas as to how I can recover the file, and why this happened?

The data sett i was working on was fairly large, a few tables had about 15 mill rows. It is possible that I did something wrong when I connected that last table leading to an insane memory/hardware usage. But still there should be a way to recover from this. I realize that it's early in the first release, so maybe this is something that will be handled in a future release.

Thanks for any help/advice you can give me

Regards,

Vegard

The version listed in the hub's about page is 2.2.4 Build 60 release ms15.

Unfortunately I can't pinpoint the cause.

The now corrupted app was originally cloned from a previously imported, published app to make some changes. The ODBC database source was updated within this cloned app and the data reloaded successfully. The updated app was then republished, overwriting the original app. The newly published app still works as expected and can be cloned successfully (unlike the now corrupted app).

The only tweaks I could recall before the corrupted file was discovered were 1 or 2 manual reloads of the app by going to QMC -> Apps, selecting the App in question, then ->More Actions -> Reload now. The AWS instance was also rebooted once in this period.

Rebooting the server during the app reload can cause this problem.

I am experiencing the same problem but this did not work for me. When I attempt to duplicate the file, I get the same error: corrupt file. It seems to create a duplicate nevertheless, but when I try to open it it is also corrupt so that is of no use. Any ideas?

This might be a bit late but did you make sure you did "right-click" and "open without data"?

Hi Micheal,

I am using Qlik Sense Desktop version 3.0. I am facing the same issue "File Corrupted". I am not able to open the file and i replicated the qvf and tried to open. However, it is also throwing the same error. It contains data of 300kb nearly. It was throwing this error suddenly.

Can you please provide the solution in resolving this issue. Apologies, I am not able to upload the error image file.

Thanks,

Santosh Aravind.

Mike,

I applied your solution, will it delete user sheets which are created by different users?

Thanks
