nPrinting Engine Error

I just installed 17.2.1 on a new server.  Everything seemed to go ok.  But the Engine will start and then immediately stop.

I have attached the information from the log.  I have no idea what it means.

I have installed and uninstalled nPrinting at least a dozen time and never had this issue.

Hi Mark,

The server where you installed NPrinting, how many cores does the CPU have?

The same thing happend to me while upgrading from 17.2 to 17.2.1 and the reason behind this was that the server only had one core.

What did you do to resolve this?  Are multiple cores a requirement?

My resolution was to add another core to the server, since it was a VM it was an easy fix.

Since the 17.2.1 update a minimum of two cores is a requirement. According to Qlik this was in the release notes but I read both the versions they released (the initial one and the revised one) but could not find this info anywhere. After a bit of searching in the knowledgebase I found it in an article there.

Hope this answers your question.

Mark - correct, server and engine machines must both be multi-core.

Is that virtual processors or physical CPUs?

Stephen_Jasionowski

It can be virtual processors.
