Running multiple tasks together at same time

Hi all,

I am trying to execute multiple tasks at the same time, but to my surprise, only one task is getting executed and the others are not.

Could someone please help me understand why this is happeneing.

Is it because Nprinting does not work on multi threaded fashion.

Are talking about QV server or of NPrinting Server features ?

Hi, Aadil.

I had a similar issue and was told that I need to slightly stagger the schedule otherwise there may be conflicts. There is a plan to resolve this in a future release but not until 2016.

I Have similar requirement to run five task from one QVW and I got surprised it's run only in paralle!

Hi Aadil and Mohammed,

If you use NPrinting 16, you won't be able to execute multiple tasks at the same time. Technically not possible. If you use NPrinting 17, you will be able to execute multiple tasks at the same time.

Is there any limitations in version 17?

we have very complex report built on perfect pixel template, so do we need to redoing the work again or it will work fine? As I knew the new version is web based.

Hi, Mohammed,

There are still some/ or say many limitations of nprinting 17 compared to nprinting 16 (if that is the version you creating your pixel template).  Like you can not run report by month by now (can use a work around to do this).  But also something new. And of course all the functions in nprinting 16 will finally be developed in 17, but always not 100% "will work fine" can be guaranteed.  Suggest you first check whether all the info related to perfect pixel report in 17 as below is the same as 16, then you will know more about the risk.

Hi Mohammed,

I would suggest you take a look at the help of NPrinting 17 What is Qlik NPrinting? ‒ Qlik NPrinting. Near the bottom of the page is an overview which functions are currently in NP16 and NP17. I do not think that you need to rebuild the PixelPerfect report, because make a export in NPrinting 16 (zip file) and do an import in NPrinting 17 in the Report builder.
