Qlik Sense App loads with a Pre-Selected Dimension

I keep running into instances where my Qlik Sense Apps are loading as if I have already selected a dimension.

At first I thought that this was happening if I had the app open with a selection made and then reloaded the data editor in a separate window, but I cleared all selections and then reloaded the data, the selections came back.

Any idea why this is happening, and more importantly, how to keep it from happening?

My hope is to have the application open with nothing selected.

Thanks.

-Mike

This is the quickest way to fix this issue.

Right click on the app and "Open without Data".  This removes all data and fields associated with it.  leaving only the shell of the application.

Open the Data Load Editor and load the data.

Open the App Overview, select your first page and notice that the pre-selected dimensions are gone.

Hello Mike,

is this happening with apps uploaded on Qlik Sense Server?

Hi Yianni.

Yes, we are running Sense 3.0, but it was also happening before our upgrade, so I don't think it's version specific.

I have found that you need to reload the app with no selections in your work area before you publish.  Then it clears out.

Thanks Mark.

We have done this multiple times (most recently right before my initial post) and it still didn't work.

I removed the selection, opened the data load editor, and loaded the data.  I've done this with multiple windows (Application in one window and the Data Load Editor in another) as well as in the same window (Open Application, remove filter, and then open the Data Load Editor in the same window).

This is exactly where I was getting to.

All of my issues were solved once I uploaded a new qvf to QMC without any selections and then published it.

try in incognito, sometimes cache is a killer!!!

Hi

Try doing this

Open the App and remove all selections

Open the same App again (so the one App is open twice) and reload this one.

Close both and open aagin

Hi Robert.

I tried this in regular chrome and icognito, both without any luck.

I really thought you were on to something though.

Thanks.

The solution to this problem is to Export the application, Delete it from the QMC and then Import.
