Can Qlikview document reload be called by SQL proc?

Hi all - I'd like to automate the refresh of a number of qlikview documents. Ideally, I'd like the last line of the stored proc that builds the table, eg DiMcustomer, to call and iniatiate the refresh of the DimCustomer QVD file. Is this wish possible and acheivable?

Mark,

You can reload a qlikview file from dos:

"myqlikviewinstalation\QlikView\Qv.exe" /r "%\mydocpath.qvw"

So i believe if you create a bat file with that instruction and call it from a stored procedure with command shell exec:

exec master.dbo.xp_cmdshell "%mybatfilehere.bat".

Hope it helps,

Hi Mark,

My experience is that running the QV.exe task as a command line can be a little flaky if the user is not logged in (i.e. runs as an interactive task).

Probably the better solution would be to setup an EDX reload task in QVS and get the batch to call this.  There is an example of triggering an EDX task in the Server Reference Manual.

Stephen
