How to change the root folder?

Hello Everyone,

Can someone guide me through the correct process of changing the Root folder.

The reports currently sitting in the root folder are obsolete and I do not want to show them on the access point anymore. However, I do not want to delete them. I have reports in the mounted folders that I want to show.

Questions:

What would be the impact if I change the Root folder, for e.g., change it to an empty folder?

By doing the above, would it affect user access?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Awais

Hi Awais

I think is better that you move the QVWs to another folder intead of changing the root folder.

There isnt an impact if you change the root folder but I dont recomend that

You can change it in this section Root Folder and clik Apply

I agree with Herbert.

We have our distribution folder set to D:\Qlikview.  That same drive also has a D:\Archive folder which holds the older content (prior versions, etc..) and is not visible to our customers.

Thank you Herbert and John!

I moved the qvw files to a different folder while keeping the same root folder - it worked.
