Internet Explorer has stopped working

Dear all,

we face the problem that in IE we get a the nasty error message "Internet Explorer has stopped working" which is annoying our users.

We are using 11.2 SR16 and IE 11 and the Internet Explorer Plugin.

The error message is caused by the server closing an inactive session after the time specified in the parameter "Maximum Inactive Session Time" in the Management Console.

Is there any way to avoid this error message?

We do not want to switch to the Ajax-Client because this has several disadvantages in comparison to the IE-Plugin in the moment.

Kind regards

Philip Munz

You *could* fix this by increasing the Session Timeout limits in QMC. However, that may not be what you're after.

Are you sure that it's the message that is causing problems, and not the simple fact that the session is terminated after a minimum amount of inactivity?

Have you tried opening the application in some other browser .. if you are getting the same error in the other browser as well than follow Peter's suggestion.

thanks for the reply.

Of course the message is coming because the session is terminated.

But this message is missleading as the Internet Explorer has no problem.

In the Ajax-Client there is a message like "Session has expired" or so. This would also be a good message in the IE because the users can figure out what happened.

In the version 11.2 SR6 (we used before this missleading error message in IE did not occur...

And yes - increasing the Session Timeout is not a good option  because we are working with session licences.

Try reconnecting to your internet connection else you can try to troubleshoot your issue. Try not to ope to many tabs together.
