Qlik Sense and Nprinting Installation on separate servers

Hello,

Currently we had our single instance Qlik Sense server and Npriting installed on the same server and everything worked great.  However, we would like to install Npriting on a separate server.

I'm just trying to get a better understanding of how this should work.  I tried installing Nprinting on the new server, following the same steps as I did when I installed it on our Qlik Sense box but it is not working.  When I installed Nprinting on the new server (Let's say it's called serv230), during the engine installation it asked me for the machine name and I put in there serv220 (location of the Qlik Sense server installation).  When I go to the web console and also specify serv220 as the engine as well, it just says it is OFFLINE.  I am just trying to figure out how I can make serv230 (nprinting server) talk to serv220 (qlik sense server), any help would be appreciated!

Hi Damir,

You should enter serv230 or localhost or 127.0.0.1 or the IP address of serv230. See: https://help.qlik.com/en-nprinting/17.3/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Installing-qlikview-nprinting.h...

"...If the Qlik NPrinting Engine is installed on the same computer as the Qlik NPrinting Scheduler you can use the loopback network interface, so that you can insert the IP address 127.0.0.1 or localhost. In this case it is not necessary to open firewall ports on the public network interface."

You specify the Proxy address of the Qlik Sense server and the App ID when creating the Connection to the Qlik Sense app . See: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/17.3/Content/GettingStarted/HowCreateConnections/Create-Connec...
