Operations Monitor causing performance issue

Whenever I try to open the Operations Monitoring app, performance on the Windows server goes to > 95% as well as memory usage.  Any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden?

You could be the space capacity of your hard drive

We had > 6 months of log files stored on the server.  I deleted all except for the current and previous month and the issues are not longer.
