QV V9 SR3 “qlikview distribution service” don’t want to start Error 1067

Hi,

QV is making me crazy!!! so I need your help 🙂

On our server we have this problem:

The service "qlikview distribution service" don't want to start. Do you know what could be the issue? I don't find.

I saw a post about this problem but the solutions didn't work on my case.

I've put a log file attached.

Thanks for your help.

JG.

I have the same issue when exchanging a personal admin user with a new domain service user.

Windows could not start the QlikView Distribution Service on <server name>
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly.

Windows could not start the QlikView Server service on <server name>
Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

The Qlikview Webserver service on <server name> started and then stopped.
Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programms.

No solution, yet.

Regards, Thomas

When uninstalled SR1 did you remove the files under

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech ?

Have you tried stopping the distribution service.

Remove the catalog C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\Publisher\Qlikview Distribution Service

Then restarting the service again?

We are using QlikView 10 and have installed a customer patch (incl. QVB.exe).

The distribution service did not start. The folder we had to remove was C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService in QV10. Then the service could be restarted.

Thanks

On Windows Server 2008 you need to run the qvb.exe as administrator otherwise it doesn't register its classes even if it says so. Just simply right click qvb.exe and select Run as Administrator.

Good evening everyone,

I did the installation of the SR version: 09 and happened the same situation.

I did the tests mentioned by all of the above and can not solve the problem.

The solution was to install the SR version: 10 so the issue is resolved.

Hope this helps someone else.
