qliksense extension on click of an HTML element

Hi,

I developed a mashup in which I have a navigation bar. I have an extension associated with the app that I am currently using to develop a mashup. Could anyone please tell me or show me an example on how to show or enable an extension on click of an HTML element in this navigation bar. I am using the basic single page mashup as a template.
