Qlik Sense Map Geo Points

Hi,

I have seen this video Qlik Sense 3.1 - Understanding Geographic Data Profiling - YouTube from @Michael Tarallo

It says that Sense automatically generates geo points. I have tried this function with my Sense Desktop (3.1 SR6 latest version), but I haven't found any geo points after the data loading process.

My data is the following read from xlsx:

CountrySales
French100
Italy150
Spain200

qvf is attached.

thanks,

Daniel

You do not have to apologize, trying figure out the reason, maybe it is a bug (or features) .

Follow the video and then at the end load the data, then go into the Data Model Viewer and you should see that the fields are in fact there.  There's a discussion below the video :

Qlik Sense 3.1 - Understanding Geographic Data Profiling (video)

Follow that through and you can see that others are having the same issue.

Follow the video then load the data.  then create a map and just use country as dimension.

Hi Daniel,

I just created a map using 3 columns Country,CountryISOCode and City.

Qliksense automatically creates a geo point without long and lati values.

I just created for values France,FRA,Lyon  in the map.

I have checked the data  model viewer as the video shows but haven't seen such  fields, that is my problem, but you can also check it this is the data and the script.

Data:

LOAD * INLINE [

    Country, Sales

    French, 100

    Italy, 150

    Spain, 200

];

regarding this "Follow that through and you can see that others are having the same issue." ye I saw that one as well.

You have to use the data load editor and PREPARE YOUR DATA before loading so that Qlik recognize your GeoFields.

And when It comes to country, I think Qlik will recognize your field as a polygon not points.
