Dear all
I am working on a movie dataset and is struggling to display the following information on my dashboard.
My database has the following columns: MovieTitle, Gender, Ratings
I need to display the following:
List the top 10 movies that, on average, men rate higher than women.
I assume that we have to use a List Box for the above.
I created a List Box with MovieTitle as the Dimension.
I am not sure what to add to the expression such that it filters out only the top 10 movies (based on Average Ratings calculated) that men rated higher than women.
Could someone please help to provide some clear advise.
Thank you so much!
Why do you need difference in Average rating.
It would be more helpful to the management to know the percentage difference in the review for that movie by gender than only showing the males avg rating.
Avg({<Gender={'male'}>}Rate)-Avg({<Gender={'female'}>}Rate)
this will give difference in average
Thank you Pankaj
Hi jess
Are you sure? Taking that approach doesn't take into account popularity of the movie for example only one male could give a movie a 5 and 100 women an average of 3.5 with many women giving it a 5 and yet you will conclude the film is more popular with males.
Also the overall rating could be quite poor 3/1 vs 5/4
In this case a more popular movie with males is dropped down the list due to it being also popular with women.
An extreme example but hopefully you get my point. Perhaps a measure or number of measures that will give a more complete ranking pictire.
