Will it create any problems in Access point & Server , if changes done in Desktop version which is 12 and QMC in the 11.20

Hi all,

Currently we are using Qlik view Server and Qlikview Desktop which is in 11.20 Version . We need to achieve aggregate with sort function which is not available in Qlikview Desktop 11.20 . After Upgrading the qlikview desktop to latest version (12.) and achieving the aggregate with sort function .Any changes with aggregate with sort function done in desktop version , will it reflect in the Qlik view server which will be running the old version or will it create any problems in the Access point while accessing  as it will be running the old version  ie . 11.20 version ?

If you are using functionality that only existing within v 12, then it won't be supported in the access point on a v11.2 server.

Because the functionality won't be there! You always want the Server components to be on the same version OR later than the Desktop.

In general it's not recommended to mix up different releases of server and clients. Beside unsupported functionalities there is always a risk of any incompatibility.

Suggest that you follow best practices and develop QVWs in the version which QVS is running. Shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to uninstall QV Desktop v12 and install v11.20.
