Nprinting Error When Scheduling Task

Error: Access violation at address 016CD88E in module 'NPrintingSvc.exe'

I have 1 QVW that has 2 scheduled NP 16 runs. One works, one doesn't. The one that doesn't says: Error: Access violation at address 016CD88E in module 'NPrintingSvc.exe'

I can run the task manually - it just doesn't work from the schedule.

I am going to reboot the App server but any other suggestions?

Hi

It does not matter from which file it was created. What matters is what version of NPrinting Designer you were using to create, edit or modify recently your nsq files. Version of Designer needs to be the same as version of server, In your environments it is clearly not the same.

Lech

Hi.

Right above in your logs it also says:

Service 8/10/2017 6:15:00 AM Warning The QlikView NPrinting file you are opening was created with a later QlikView NPrinting release. When saving the file using the current version, it might no longer work correctly or be compatible with later releases.

Make sure you run NPrinting Designer and Server on the same version, else you will always run into troubles.

I would suggest following.

  • update your server & designer to the same version
  • open your nsq files in designer, test-run them and save
  • copy-paste them to server

test again.

Other thing you should also check is whether document you are trying to use has section access on it? Id so, make sure there that NPrinting service account is able to open this document.

I'm confused because one file was created off of the other so they should both be the same version. Thanks for the tips!

That makes sense, thanks. I am using Designer 16.5 but Server 16.2.
