QVS.exe high memory usage

Hi Everyone,

Since few days we are facing high consumption of memory usage by QVS.exe file and due to which we are also facing "No Connection Error" while accessing the reports from Access point through Chrome as well as through IE.

This is becoming a very fatal issue for our users to run the reports. Initially this file is not consuming so much memory. Kindly let us know about the root cause of these issues. Can this be either due to reports or due to some web services issue?

Also I don't think these issues are due to reports because all the reports are running perfectly fine in our production environment on Qlikview server. Only the issue is happening with Access point when we try to access it.

Please let us know regarding these issues. It would be quite helpful

I faced the same problem Couple of years back and the below answer helped me.

I'm having this issue as well, and we have traced it to some users having multiple sessions open.  They open a document in Access point, then when/if it doesn't respond as soon as they expect it to, they close and reopen the doc, and QlikView isn't releasing their previous sessions.  So when the CPU usage spikes to 100%, I can check sessions open and sometimes a single user has had as many as 22 sessions open.  The only way we have found to release the sessions so far is to stop and restart services.  It seems 'Qlikview Server' and 'Qlikview WebServer' are the ones that make the difference.

One point of interest is that the document most often in question is on a scheduled reload every 3 hours.  Also possibly related to this is the fact that one tab in this document often will not load for a particular user, which causes them to try closing and reopening.
