How do I select two different dates on two different tables if they are the same dimension?

I have a date column in my data to indicate that the data associated with it is different for each date. What I want is to have a table on the top and a table on the bottom where you can select first the date on the top table and then a different date on the bottom table and then drill down into continent, country, name, etc simultaneously.

If there is a better way of representing the data please let me know. One table does make more sense because all I'm going to have is the variance between the dates.

Have a look into alternate states, a sample is shown in the What's New in QV11.qvw demo app.

Using alternate states for the date, you can select two different dates (because the selections is made in different states) and then apply the state to the chart using the chart properties general tab or to a specific chart expression using set analysis.
