Why do you have to set a password for a Domain account?

If NPrinting portal behaves like AccessPoint why would I need to enter a user password for a AD account that is not in Sync with the users existing AD password?

Excuse my ignorance Im brand new at installing NPrinting 17

Hi Brian,

The password is for the NPrinting User account.

When logging in to the NPrinting Portal or NewsStand, the user has a choice of using Windows Login or to Authenticate with Qlik NPrinting credentials.

The user simply needs to click Windows Login if logged into Windows as the Domain account (see green boxes). If NOT logged in to Windows as any NPrinting users' Domain account, the user will be asked to provide them

Or login using NPrinting credentials (see red boxes).

HTH - Daniel.

P.S., The Domain account is also used for Section Access and Distributing Reports to the Qlik Sense Hub

Why does it force you to enter a password if you have chosen a domain Windows account, seems counter intuitive?

Wish there was a way to disable the secondary authentication. It could confuse users.

The admin page should have a check box allowing you to choose.
