Hi All,

Please help me on this issue, from last couple of months we are getting this error in NPrinting.

Error Error during copy file: D:\QlikView\xxxxxx\xxxxxx_R12_2017-11-13_12-45-10.xlsx.

We are not sure why this error is popping up. All we have is 4 recipients for each task to receive success/failure email notifications, if you see the log the error occurring during copying the file. The same error message we got for another task a week ago.

Someone please advise what we are doing wrong here; is there any issue with adding the recipients/permissions to the task or missing something else.

We are using the option "custom folder' to store the final output XLSX files, so that users can access the folder and get the files from there.

Is it possible that this particular repcipient has a character which is not allowed in files names? or custom folder does not exist, because it cannot be created or overwritten ?

I would try to look for restricted characters like " \ ' " etc...

I would try to see whether for this user custom path can be created or if it exists in this location?

I have verified again there are no such characters used for this recipient and also we have set the custom folder path and recipients like below.

As you mentioned it cannot be overwritten the file multiple times, BUT in my case it's overwriting the files based on multiple recipients, is it the normal process?

Moreover this error alert we are not receiving on daily.

Hi,

I used to create individual folders for indivisual users - so the each user had its own copy of report.

At the same time users should not open reports from the location where NPrinting stores them. It may be possible, that files are opened by someone and therefore cannot be overwritten by NPrinting service running report generation

regarding your question if the file has to be overwritten based on multiple recipients - i am not sure how it is setup for you as you have hidden the most critical part on screenshots...

Hi Lech,

We are storing the files in one location and this is how we setup the path

D:\QlikView\QlikViewProduction\XLS\MasterExtracts\Master_2017-11-15.xlsx. For all 4 recipients we have the same path.

NPrinting storing the files here and Users have the access to this folder.

Hi,

Is the following scenario possible?

user A report gets generated and stored in X path
user B report gets generated and stored in X path
- user A opens a report and looks at it (XLS file cannot be overwritten then)
user C report gets generated and cannot be stored as user A is already using it?

if this can be a case i suggest you test it with subfolders for each user (this can be done automaticly using variable subfolders based on user names)

We're having the same issue with FTP copies. It appears for each recipient, nprinting attempts to copy the xls files to ftp so it copies the same file multiple times. This does not occur when using the standard output folder - only when we're using custom folders which would indicate a bug with nprinting. We're going to test this out by using a single email. We're using nprinting 16.5

This may not solve other's issue but we rebooted our FTP server and now everything is working perfectly - well, so far.
