How can i create a backup and restore it if something goes wrong.

What changes can i expect in the behaviour of Qlikview after this upgrade? Please provide useful documents/insights to this.

Rob Wunderlich (rwunderlich) has some useful information on his site about changes in v12 & v12.1 that may affect applications being upgraded.  There is a script repository tool that can check for any issues prior to upgrading
